Domaine Coche-Dury - Puligny Montrachet Les Enseigneres 2022
The Domaine Coche-Dury, located in Meursault in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, is considered one of the absolute references of Burgundy. Founded by Georges Coche and brought to its peak by Jean-François Coche, the estate is now run by Raphaël Coche, continuing a craft of extreme precision. The vinifications are renowned for their rigor, perfectly controlled aging, and their ability to reveal a vibrant minerality and incomparable depth. Volumes are very limited and each cuvée is subject to a highly sought-after allocation worldwide. The Coche-Dury style, recognizable among all, combines tension, energy, and aromatic complexity of rare intensity. The bottles are among the most coveted on the fine white wine market.
The Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseignères 2022 is made exclusively from Chardonnay, coming from a parcel ideally located below the Grand Cru Bâtard-Montrachet. This climate benefits from an exceptional clay-limestone terroir, capable of producing wines of remarkable depth and nobility. Although a village appellation, Les Enseignères at Coche-Dury reaches a level comparable to some Premier Crus by its concentration and precision. The 2022 vintage, sunny yet balanced, offers here a broad, structured, and perfectly controlled expression. The aging, conducted with millimetric precision, enhances the material without ever masking the purity of the terroir. This is an exceptional bottle, extremely rare and sought after, a true mythical wine for lovers of great Burgundy Chardonnay.
On tasting, the wine impresses with its aromatic intensity mixing ripe citrus, white fruits, fine buttery notes, and subtle toasted touches. The palate is broad, dense, and vibrant, carried by a striking mineral tension and remarkable depth. The balance between richness and freshness gives the wine a magnificent length. The finish is long, saline, and of exceptional persistence, a signature of the greatest terroirs of Puligny-Montrachet. This wine will ideally accompany refined cuisine around shellfish, noble fish, or fine poultry, and has significant aging potential.
