Domaine des Comtes Lafon , established in Meursault for over a century, remains an absolute benchmark in Burgundy. Each cuvée, resulting from controlled yields and meticulous vineyard management, expresses the unique personality of its terroir with remarkable accuracy.
The 2022 Meursault 1er Cru Porusot comes from a prestigious vineyard located below Les Genevrières, on soils of fine clay and limestone marl. This terroir, renowned for producing wines that are both powerful and taut, is distinguished by its ability to combine breadth and verticality. The 2022 vintage, marked by a perfect balance between ripeness and freshness, reveals all the elegance of this cru. The hand-harvested grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts before a long aging process in oak barrels, a measured proportion of which are new, in order to preserve the purity and vibrancy of the Chardonnay.
On the nose, the wine opens with a deep and refined bouquet, mingling notes of ripe pear, candied lemon, and white flowers, enhanced by hints of toasted hazelnut, fresh butter, and flint. On the palate, the texture is ample and velvety, supported by a mineral tension that lends length and energy. The wine gains complexity with aeration, unfolding flavors of ripe citrus, almond, and fine honey, before a long, saline, and luminous finish of great persistence.
This 2022 Meursault 1er Cru Porusot expresses all the nobility of the terroir and the mastery of the estate: a great white Burgundy, both rich and precise, destined for superb cellaring over fifteen to twenty years.
