Domaine des Comtes Lafon , established in Meursault for four generations, is one of Burgundy's most respected names. The 2022 Meursault comes from several parcels located around the village, on clay-limestone soils rich in marl, which produce wines that combine body and minerality. The winemaking process, entirely natural, relies on slow fermentations with indigenous yeasts and aging for approximately twelve months in oak barrels, a moderate proportion of which are new, in order to preserve the purest expression of the Chardonnay. The generous and perfectly balanced 2022 vintage gives this cuvée a remarkable fruity vibrancy and depth of texture.
On the nose, the wine unfolds an elegant bouquet of ripe white fruits, fresh hazelnut, and hawthorn blossom, enhanced by hints of fresh butter and flint. On the palate, the texture is ample, velvety, and precise, underpinned by a mineral tension that structures the whole. Flavors of juicy pear, candied lemon, and sweet almond linger on a long, pure, and saline finish, a hallmark of the great terroirs of Meursault.
