SPRINGBANK - 21 years - Bottled 2025 - 46%
A true monument to Scotch whisky, Springbank 21 Year Old, 2025 Edition, embodies the excellence and craftsmanship of Campbeltown, the small town once considered the whisky capital of the world. Produced entirely on-site, from malting to aging, this rare single malt is a testament to the ancestral expertise of the Springbank distillery, one of the last in Scotland to still master the entire production process.
Made from a meticulous blend of bourbon and sherry casks, carefully selected for their complementary qualities, this 21-year-old expresses the ideal maturity of the house style. The bourbon casks bring freshness, vanilla, and honey, while the sherry casks add depth, spice, and candied fruit. After more than two decades in coastal cellars, the whisky has developed a silky texture and remarkable complexity, while retaining the saline minerality and subtle smokiness typical of Springbank.
On the nose, it is a concert of noble aromas: dried fig, acacia honey, blond tobacco, orange peel, exotic fruits and cocoa, enhanced by a fine iodine and smoky note. Aeration reveals nuances of precious wood, beeswax, roasted hazelnut and brown caramel, in a harmony of great elegance. On the palate, the whisky is full-bodied, deep and precise: the texture is silky, almost oily, the flavors unfold with mastery: candied fruits, vanilla, sweet spices, dark chocolate, black tea and sea salt. The finish, interminable, stretches on dry smoke, nuts, wax and salinity, in a perfectly balanced symphony.
Bottled at 46%, this 21-year-old delivers all its aromatic richness without sacrificing drinkability. Served neat or with a drop of water, it gains even more depth and reveals its complexity in successive stages. A true whisky for contemplation, it is best enjoyed slowly, ideally at the end of a meal, accompanied by intense dark chocolate, mature cheese, or an elegant cigar.
The Springbank 21 Year Old – Bottled 2025 stands out as one of the greatest expressions of the Campbeltown style: a whisky that is at once deep, salty, spicy and perfectly balanced, reflecting preserved craftsmanship and a unique maritime terroir.
