Olivier's Dauphin 2016
Château Olivier is located in Pessac-Léognan , in the Bordeaux wine region. The property was classified as Grand Cru Classé in the Graves classification of 1959. It dates back to the Middle Ages when it was inhabited by the Olivey family and used as a feudal estate and hunting base. The current building of the castle is now classified as a historic monument. Château Olivier today belongs to Alexandre de Bethmann (in whose family the estate has remained since the end of the 19th century) while its management is supervised by Laurent Lebrun. The estate extends over 220 hectares, of which 60 hectares are planted with vines on a terroir of gravel on clay-limestone. Château Olivier also produces a second red wine, La Seigneurerie d'Olivier, as well as a red and white wine under the Le Dauphin d'Olivier label.
Le Dauphin d'Olivier 2016 is a blend of Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) . Vinification is carried out in stainless steel vats then the wine is aged for 12 months in barrels , 35% of which are new.
