Domaine GANEVAT - Antide - Savagnin - 84 months aging 2018
The 2018 Antide cuvée from Domaine Ganevat is part of a new range imagined by Jean-François Ganevat, dedicated to wines aged for an exceptionally long time, reaching 84 months, or seven full years. Produced under the Côtes du Jura appellation, this savagnin cuvée, blending green savagnin and yellow savagnin, comes from marl and carton schist terroirs that give the wine remarkable depth and mineral intensity. This range is distinguished by a radical approach to long aging, pushed to its extreme, without intervention or artifice. To clearly identify them, these cuvées are recognizable by a dark green capsule, specially applied to differentiate them from the domain's classic cuvées with yellow capsules. Antide 2018 embodies this new interpretation of Jura, demanding, patient, and deeply identity-driven. It is a rare cuvée, produced in very limited quantities, intended for lovers of great age-worthy wines.
The nose shows great complexity, blending notes of dried fruits, ripe apple, wax, and soft spices. Upon aeration, stony, slightly smoky nuances appear, reflecting the marl-schist nature of the soil. On the palate, the attack is broad and structured, supported by dense matter and remarkable energy. The very long aging on lees brings a rich and enveloping texture while maintaining constant mineral tension. The savagnin expresses itself here with nobility, between depth, precision, and controlled power. The aromatic evolution is slow and progressive, inviting attentive tasting. The finish is long, saline, and intensely persistent.
Vinified with indigenous yeasts, without any intervention or sulfur addition, the Antide 2018 cuvée benefited from 84 months aging on lees, divided between demi-muids and stoneware amphorae. This long-time work gives the wine natural stability, rare aromatic depth, and great aging potential. Antide is a wine for gastronomy and meditation, capable of evolving over many years. This cuvée illustrates the culmination of an extreme reflection on aging and savagnin. It stands as a major reference in this new range from Domaine Ganevat. A powerful, elegant, and timeless wine, reserved for great occasions.
