Domaine Gueguen - La vigne d'Emile - Bourgogne Rouge 2020
Domaine Gueguen is located in Chablis, in Burgundy. It was created in 2013 by Céline and Frédéric Gueguen, born in winegrowers’ families. They have 25 hectares of vines, mostly planted with Chardonnay in the Bourgogne and Chablis appellations. They also cultivate Sauvignon Blanc for the AOC Saint-Bris, Pinot Noir for Irancy and the old grape variety called Sacy. The vineyard is managed according to the principles of sustainable viticulture and is certified in High Environmental Value (HVE).
La Vigne d'Emile is a cuvée made from a Pinot Noir vine of Emile Petit, Céline's grandfather, grown in the commune of Saint-Bris le Vineux. After the manual harvest, the grapes are destemmed and put in vats for a pre-fermentation cold maceration of 48 hours. Fermentation begins spontaneously. The vinification is carried out in accordance with the Burgundian tradition, classic fermentations combined with the use of modern techniques in stainless steel vats.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
